JOB DESCRIPTION:  To “own” the shipping dock. Document all incoming and outgoing shipments and deliveries. Load trucks/trailers safety with taking all precautions to protect our customer’s product. Keep inventory accurate and organized. Keep the installation tools and trucks organized and up to date. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Coordinate snow removal and salting for company drives and parking lots.
  • Receive incoming materials, determining priority and expediting in timely fashion (within 24 hours).
  • Receive packing slip; attach ‘Receiver’ paperwork to packing slip/receive into ShopPAK.
  • Deliver completed paperwork to the Controller.
  • Physically move materials to new locations and attach ‘Job & Work Order’ paperwork, if available to material.
  • Notify appropriate department heads of received material.
  • Keep the receiving area and material holding areas clean and organized.
  • Perform ‘Will Calls’ as necessary.
  • Manage supply levels.
  • Load trucks as necessary and supervise any additional help
  • Maintain all shop vehicles. (at least notify someone if maintenance is needed)
  • Present a professional image to internal and external contacts.
  • Follow procedures/rules in the company handbook
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing.
  • Manage time and sets priorities for multiple tasks.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Is able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Is detail oriented and is able to follow up on tasks.
  • The ability to run all forklifts and maintain forklift safety logs.
  • Basic computer skills

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School graduate or the equivalent.
